A ribbed crop tank with a notch neck and a column of real buttons.
A cropped ribbed tank with two details doing quiet work: a notch cut into the neckline that breaks the plain stretch of the front, and a short column of small buttons that open. Between them they turn a basic layering piece into something you can wear on its own without adding a necklace.
Fine-rib knit with two-way stretch and a matte surface that stays cool. The rib is narrow and consistent, which keeps the button placket sitting flat instead of waving along its length — a placket on a stretch knit is only as straight as the rib underneath it. The knit is opaque in all colourways, including the lighter Khaki and Periwinkle.
Cropped at the natural waist with a straight body and a slight taper under the bust. The neckline is notched rather than square or round: a short vertical cut at the centre front that opens the neck without exposing the chest. The strap width is fixed and set inward, which keeps the notch centred as you move. The hem is finished with a ribbed band that grips, so the crop stays at the waistband.
The placket carries four small buttons and they are functional — the reason being that a fake placket on a stretch knit looks fake, because the fabric behind it never moves. Ours is faced on the reverse and lightly interfaced along the opening, so the buttonholes hold their shape and the placket does not gape when the buttons are done up. Open two at the top and the notch widens into a soft V.
Model is 172 cm and wears S/M. S/M covers roughly a UK 6 to 10 and M/L roughly 12 to 16, with around eight centimetres of comfortable stretch. Because the placket is interfaced and therefore less stretchy than the body, we recommend choosing the size by your bust measurement and taking the larger size if you sit at the top of a range — a stretched placket is the one thing that looks worn.

All measurements are taken flat with the garment laid out, in centimetres. Allow ±1.5 cm for hand-measured variation.
Leave two open and wear it with high-waisted trousers and no necklace.
Do the buttons up and let the notch show at the neckline.
Charcoal with charcoal is the most deliberate version of this tank.
Wear it open over a plain white tank for a light overshirt effect.
Hand wash cool or use a mesh bag on a delicate cycle, and do up the buttons before washing so the placket holds its shape. Lay flat to dry. Press the placket from the reverse with a cool iron if it ripples — never press the buttonholes from the front, and avoid steam directly on the buttons. Wash darker colourways separately for the first few cycles.
Yes, all four are functional and the placket is faced and interfaced so it stays straight when they are closed. Two buttons open turns the notch into a soft V.
Choose by your bust measurement and take the larger size if you are at the top of a range. The placket is less stretchy than the body, so a stretched placket is what looks worn first.
That is the idea. The notch and the button column give the front enough detail that it does not need a necklace or a jacket.
