A cropped crew-neck tee with a clean hem — the layering piece, not the statement.
A cropped tee that does one thing: finishes at the waist with a straight, squared-off hem and a crew neck that keeps its shape. It is the piece that makes high-waisted trousers and skirts wearable, because it removes the bulk of a full-length tee without turning the outfit into a crop-top moment.
Soft cotton jersey with a light hand and a smooth, matte face. It is a lighter knit than our fitted crew top, which suits a cropped cut: less weight means the hem does not drag the body out of shape, and the fabric skims instead of sticking. There is a modest amount of stretch for movement but not so much that the neckline loosens, which is the usual failure point on a cheap cropped tee.
Straight through the body with a slightly boxy line and a hem that is cut level rather than curved, so it sits flat across the waistband rather than rising at the sides. The sleeve is short and finished with a turned hem that is stitched narrow, keeping the arm line clean. It is not a fitted tee — if you want it to follow the figure, choose our fitted crew-neck top instead.
Most cropped tees are cut with a curved hem, inherited from full-length patterns, and it shows: the sides lift up over the hip bone and the front looks shorter than it measures. We cut this one level across, which is why it reads straight in photographs and why it stays put when you tuck or half-tuck. The hem is also faced rather than simply turned, so it will not roll after washing.
Model is 172 cm and wears S. The cut is boxy, so this is one of the few pieces where sizing down is a legitimate choice: it gives a closer fit without shortening the body much. The crop length is measured from the high point of the shoulder to the hem on the size chart — check it against a tee you already own, because a two-centimetre difference is the difference between layering and showing midriff.
Straight across rather than curved, so it does not lift at the hip bone.
Will not roll or curl after a few washes.
Modest stretch that keeps the neckline tight through the season.

All measurements are taken flat with the garment laid out, in centimetres. Allow ±1.5 cm for hand-measured variation.
Pair with high-waisted wide-leg trousers; the level hem meets the waistband cleanly.
Layer it under a slip dress that is too low for daytime.
Tuck only the front for a waist definition that stays put.
Black and Off White cover almost every bottom in the wardrobe.
Machine wash cold and tumble dry low, or line dry to keep the hem crisp. The facing at the hem is the part to protect: do not stretch it while damp, and press it flat from the reverse rather than the front if it needs smoothing. Wash with similar colours, particularly the Off White, and skip bleach, which will yellow the cotton over time.
It finishes at the natural waist on a 172 cm model. The exact length from the high point of the shoulder to the hem is on the size chart in centimetres.
Straight and boxy rather than fitted. If you want a close cut, size down one, or choose our fitted crew-neck top instead.
No. The hem is faced and stitched narrow rather than simply turned, so it stays flat through repeated washing.
